In the house
At 2 p.m. on Mar. 20 officers were called to Palm Ave. S.W. on the report of a young suspect walking down the street highly intoxicated. The suspect, a 17 year old black male, was reported by witnesses to be wandering down the street and stumbling as he walked. An officer spotted the suspect in the front yard of a residence and parked across the street to get out and talk to the suspect. Once out of the car the officer realized he had lost sight of the victim and couldn’t see where he had gone.
After doing a quick look around the residence the officer realized that the front door was partially open and reasoned that the suspect must have gone inside the house. The officer pushed the door open, announced himself, and was greeted by the home owner. After explaining to the home owner what was going on they both proceeded to look through the house. When they came to a bathroom on the main floor the home owner opened the door and then quickly shut it saying “He’s in there”. The officer drew his gun and entered the bathroom finding the suspect standing inside.
No property was attempted to be stolen by the suspect. The main concern of the home owner was that her daughter had been showering downstairs at the time and she was disturbed at how easily someone had gotten inside her home. The suspect was taken to King County Jail for processing.
Back pack
On Mar. 24 a strong arm back pack robbery occurred in a park on 29 Ave. S.W. at about 5 p.m. A group of high school girls were walking through the park, all of them friends, when the victim was stopped by the suspect and told to hand over her back pack. The suspect, an unknown white girl to the victim of about 15 years old, was walking with the group. The victim panicked and ran away into the park to escape the suspect.
Once the suspect reached the playground area of the park she began vomiting from fear which allowed time for the suspect to catch up to her and start demanding for her to hand over the back pack. The suspect then yanked the back pack off the victim and ran into the woods. The back pack was later recovered by officers who responded. The victim had around $200 dollars inside the bag which was stolen but nothing else was reported as having been taken by the victim.
At the time of this report none of the other girls in this group were willing to give any information about the suspect because she is a friend to them. The suspect remains unknown.
