Disgruntled
Police were alerted to a burglary in progress by a witness passing by a business on the 9000 block of 35 Ave. S.W. The caller reported seeing a white male in his 30’s wearing a blue fleece and blue jeans rush through the door of the business which had clearly been smashed out (the door was made of glass).

When officers arrived on the scene they found the inside of the business littered with broken glass, pulled cash register wires and other random items broken on the floor. It appeared to them that an entire cash register had been taken.

Officers fanned out to search for a potential suspect, using a K9 unit and following a trail of rolled coins that lead out of the store and seemed to have been dropped in the rush to get away. They eventually located a suspect crouched behind a building blocks away with blood on his hands and rolls of coins lying near him. After being taken into custody officers reviewed film from the scene and confirmed that the suspect they had was the same person on the surveillance footage.

When officers contacted the business owner they found out that the suspect had worked for the business between Mar.30and Apr.5. He had been fired. A further look into the suspect’s history revealed that he has a warrant out for his arrest for violating his probation by pimping and is also listed as a sex offender. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail.

An elbow for gum
Just after 9 p.m. on Apr.9 at a convenience store on the 9400 block of 16 Ave. S.W. a strong arm robbery occurred over a pack of gum. The suspects, two juvenile black males, are known to the cashier for frequently coming in and leaving with stolen items.

On this particular incident one of the suspects grabbed a pack of gum and both suspects began walking toward the door and away from the register. The cashier confronted the suspect with the gum and approached him with her hand out for the gum.

When she reached the suspect he threw an elbow and hit her on the chin after which both suspects ran out the door. The cashier chased after them but once they were outside the suspects took off in different directions.

The cashier refused any medical assistance and claimed to be fine. Police asked her for a copy of the surveillance footage before leaving her with a case number.
