A little late for a night cap
May 20 – At the 700 block of Northwest 65th Street around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary forced entry at a bar. The owner was already there when officers arrived and told them that the front door had been pried open and damaged. The owner said that he was contacted by his alarm company and arrived at the scene 10 minutes later. He said that it appeared the suspect had exited through the rear door. He could not tell if anything had been taken but said he would have his staff do an inventory later that day to be sure. Officers noticed the business to the east had a camera that pointed at the rear exit and plan to contact the business owner to look at the footage.
Construction site bandit booked
May 16 -- Officers responded to a burglary at the 3600 block of Woodland Park Avenue North. The complainant told dispatchers that he heard noises from the construction site next door. When officers arrived they saw a large trailer parked at the site and saw a man in a plaid shirt through a window. Officers shined a flashlight on the suspect and immediately he disappeared into the building. Then one officer went into the building while the other waited at one of the exits. They reported hearing a scraping sound and then they saw the suspect exit the building by jumping from a first story window. They followed and apprehended the suspect who was uncooperative with officers. Officers then searched the construction site for another suspect and took photos for evidence. The suspect was booked at King County Jail.
