“We are very proud to be able to produce this major event for our community. It’s about raising funds for charity, but it’s also about bringing us all together for a day of celebration! Nobody does it like Highline!” said Highline Schools Foundation Trustee and race course lead Mike Yellam.
Foundation Executive Director Ashley Fosberg said “with the funds raised from Brat Trot, we can do our job of getting more kids what they need to be successful in school. From school supplies for our neediest of students, to classroom grants and athletic fees, the Foundation does it all and everything in between, and we can’t do it without community support.
The Burien Brat Trot, a local fundraiser for the Highline Schools Foundation was concluded last week with a drawing at the Tin Room Bar in Olde Town. Tin Room bar manager Mary Ellen Armbrust and her able assistant Kyle House were on hand with race director Ashley Fosberg to offer a swag bag and gift certificate to drawing winner Tamara Chakos. Chakos is an advertising executive of the Westside Weekly and swears the drawing was random. Money totals for the fund raiser were not available at press time. Staff photo.
