The Salty half Marathon on Oct. 18 got off to a very sunny start before the clouds returned. This was the 6th annual staging of the race which has runners competing over a 13.1 mile course extending from Harbor Ave. SW up into Lincoln Park.
The 6th Annual Salty Half Marathon race was held on Oct. 18 beginning at the Don Armeni Boat Lanch along Alki’s boardwalk with the 13.1 mile course extending up into Lincoln Park. Runners had to be able to complete the 13.1 miles in less than 3 hours.
The race was started by Tamara Mackey, who took on the challenge of completing 52 half marathons in one year and completed it. Since then she has been the organizer of this event that saw 133 runners competing.
Awards were given the top 5 male and top 5 female finishers overall. Everyone participating received a custom finishers' memento from Bedrock Glass.
