Goon grabs wallet and uses credit cards
On October 29, Seattle police responded to a burglary at the 5400 block of Leary Avenue Northwest. They made contact with the resident who told them that she left her residence to go to dinner and when she returned she found her home had been invaded. Her wallet from a back room had been taken. The wallet contained $80 in cash, three credit cards, her Washington Driver’s License and a checkbook. She told officers that she allowed no one into her home but that a few of her co-workers have keys. She contacted her bank and they told her that one of her credit cards had been used at a local gas station.
Guitar and bike taken from shared storage shed
October 29, officers responded to a burglary at a residence on the 400 block of Northwest 100 Place. Complainants told officers that their shared storage shed had been burglarized. The lock to the storage facility was missing. One complainant reported a $450 dark blue, Jackson Warrior guitar was stolen. The other complainant reported her $400 Motobecane 24-speed road bike was taken. Luckily she has excess to the serial number. The victims reported seeing suspicious individuals loitering in the area before the crime took place, but they had not reported them. Officers advised the victims to report any suspicious activity in the future. Meanwhile, the North Precinct is doing everything in their means to recover the stolen property.
Wire thief galvanizes a trend in North Seattle
On October 25, officers arrived at a home on the 5500 block of 2nd Avenue Northwest to find rolls of electrical wire taken. The complainant told officers that over 300 feet of electrical wire had been taken. The value of the property is estimated to be $1500. Wire theft is a growing trend in the North Seattle area.
Contractor gets sand bagged
On October 27 officers responded to a tool theft at the 5800 block of 14th Avenue Northwest. The complainant -- a contractor -- told officers that he kept tools at the site and that the night before most of his tools had been taken from a secure trailer on the site. The lock had been cut. In addition, two wooden planks and one post were taken.
