Power outages from high winds affected more than 7000 homes in West Seattle on Jan. 18. City Light crews worked to resolve the issues.

Aside from some minor pockets of outages power has been restored.

The outage in north Admiral that began around 1:34am persists with projected resolution now targeted for after 3:30pm. It affect some 101 City Light customers.
Update 11:12am
The biggest power outage in West Seattle was resolved but one near the Junction affecting 142 homes and another in the Admiral District are continuing.
Update 10:10am
A group of 363 homes from the original power outage that began at 1:31am remained without power as of 10:10am. There was no estimate of restoration by City Light. The others still affected were in the Junction area with 186 customers still out and 101 in North Admiral without power.
Update 9:10am
The outage that hit the White Center area this morning that was expected to take well into the afternoon to fix has been restored. Meanwhile the outages along the water south of Lincoln Park that were expected to be resolved this morning are continuing. No time estimate for restoration has been posted.
Update 8:45am
The power outages got more extensive as the high winds continued through sunrise to affect more City Light customers, with 5249 homes in the White Center area out. Unfortunately for football fans in the affected area, restoration was not expected until 3pm.
The new outage extended from Cloverdale Street SW in the north to SW 112th in the south. The western edge of the outage was from 26th SW to 8th Ave. SW on the east with pockets of other outages adjacent to the more widespread outage.

High winds overnight as usual interrupted power for more than 2000 Seattle City Light customers in West Seattle. The biggest outage was along the water just south of Lincoln Park extending from SW Austin Street in the north to approximately SW 100th Street in the south and from Brace Point to 35th SW. 1887 homes were affected and power was expected to be restored by 7 am.
Further north 142 customers were in the dark near the West Seattle Junction centered around SW Oregon Street after a tree falling brought down some power lines. Further north from SW Lander to SW Hill 101 homes were out, also caused by a tree falling. Restoration was expected around 7:30 am.
City Light reported via Twitter "Crews report downed line near SW Roxbury St and 44 Av SW. Stay clear (at least 30 feet)" around 4 am.
