By Carole Smith
Upon some futuristic tide
Into our waters she would glide
A streamlined lass whose smooth design
Would conquer hearts in record time
For unlike any other ship
Instead of just an island trip
You felt like you were headed toward
Some distant planet when aboard
Plus you could tell from cross the Sound
As she sailed back Seattle bound
That just like you her graceful dome
Shone even brighter cruising home
So when it was her time to go
One of those who had loved her so
Would take her bones and lay then down
Where Silver Bird could see her town!
