High schools
Boys basketball
Kennedy Catholic, Seattle Lutheran and Shorewood Christian will all be
involved in state regional action this coming Saturday.
JFK's Lancers play Stanwood in an 8 p.m. Class 3A game at Mount Vernon
High School, while Seattle Lutheran goes to Bellevue Community College
to battle the Yakama Tribal School in a 2 p.m. Class 1B game.
Shorewood Christian journeys to Tumwater to take on Taholah in a 10
a.m. Class 1B game.
Winners go on to the state final eight next Thursday through Saturday,
with the 3A action in the Tacoma Dome and the 1B action in Spokane.

Girls basketball
West Seattle plays Sumner in a girls Class 3A regional at 8 p.m.
Saturday at Renton High School.
The Wildcats are seeking a trip to the state tournament in the Tacoma Dome.

Spring sports
Tryouts for all spring action in Washington state open Monday.
Check with respective schools for specific information.

Pros and colleges
Thunderbirds
Seattle plays host to Prince George for a 7:35 p.m. Western Hockey
League match at the Showare Center in Kent on Friday before
entertaining Portland at the same place at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
The Thunderbirds are at Victoria for 7:05 p.m. action Monday and Tuesday.

Mariners
Full workouts have begun in Peoria, Ariz. for the Seattle Mariners,
who will play their first game next Wednesday at that site at 12:05
p.m. against San Diego.

Husky men
The University of Washington is at UCLA for an 8 p.m. game Wednesday
on ESPN 2 before dropping in on USC at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the
Pac-12 network.

Husky women
The Huskies host USC for a 6 p.m. game Thursday and UCLA at 1 p.m.
Saturday with the Pac-12 network showing both games live.

Cougar men
Washington State University is at USC for 7 p.m. action Wednesday and
at UCLA at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The Pac-12 network will show Wednesday's
game and Fox Sports 1 will carry Sunday's.

Cougar women
The Cougars are at home in Pullman playing UCLA at 7 p.m. Thursday and
USC at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Pac-12 network will show Saturday's action.

Redhawks men
Seattle University entertains Bakersfield at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on ASN.

Redhawks women
The Redhawks visit Bakersfield at 1 p.m. Saturday.
