87th Annual Blessing of the Fleet set for March 15
Some of the many boats that are thought of in the Blessing of the Fleet. This year is the 87th year of wishing good will and safety to the fleet.

On Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m. the 87th Blessing of the Fleet will take place at Fishermen’s Memorial site at Fishermen’s Terminal.
The blessing was originated by the late Pastor O.L. Haavik of Ballard First Lutheran Church. This year the service will be conducted by Pastor Erik R. Wilson Weiberg and Pastor Laurie A. Jones, both of Ballard First Lutheran Church.
Various representatives from the government and the fishing industry have been invited to bring greetings. The public is invited to attend this celebration, asking God’s blessing for a bountiful season, peace upon the unpredictable sea and a safe journey home.
Coffee and cookies will be served following the service.
