April is National Poetry Month so we should join in the fun by stepping out of our normal routine and surprising someone close to each of us with a bit of poetry. Even if your not a poet, you can use something like this written by William Shakespeare or another fine author…
What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?
No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call—
All mine was thine before thou hadst this more.
Wouldn’t it be nice to receive something like that in a card or a special note? Would it not also make sense to include a set of tickets to an upcoming show and plan a nice time out where you can enjoy time together over a meal and a glass of wine? I am going to leave the poetry for my wife with tickets for her and my daughter to the upcoming Maroon 5 concert. There will be screaming well before the concert!
A quick bit of data (my engineer side): Did you know there are 138 places to eat within eleven minutes of where you live? Seventeen of those places would be a perfect place to present your poetry and your gift of love. Sixty-four would be suitable for such a presentation and nine others would work but only if your spouse is more into you than the environment you happen to be enjoying together. The rest just wouldn’t make sense unless you’re including an appliance as a gift. In that case, might I suggest saving some money and getting a piece of handcrafted goodness from Hot Chocolat available at Chaco Canyon (West Seattle) instead?
Or, put Burien Bites on your calendar to walk between stops for scrumptious $2 bites at each. Registration and other info at www.BurienBites.com
It arrives April 9th and includes many of the wonderful restaurants in the Burien core.
