Learn about route and station options for extending light rail from SeaTac to Federal Way
Wed, 04/08/2015
On April 14, 2015, from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Sound Transit will have staff at an information table in the Council Chambers lobby of SeaTac City Hall to answer questions and accept comments about the Federal Way Link Extension. Sound Transit staff will make a presentation to the City Council during the Study Session which begins at 4:30 PM.
The Federal Way Link Extension project will extend light rail from the Angle Lake Station at S. 200th in SeaTac (opening in 2016) to Kent/Des Moines by 2023 and to Federal Way when more funding is secured.
Sound Transit recently conducted an environmental review of the project. On April 10, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) will be available for public review and comment. It provides information about route and station options on SR 99 and I-5 and how the project could benefit and impact the community and environment. Public comments will help the Board of Directors identify a preferred alternative this summer.
