For Seattle Christian, it was more fun in the sun under blue skies.
Sophomore Carlee Ronish crafted a four-hitter with 10 strike outs and only one walk as the Seattle Christian softball team completed a sweep of three games for the week in a 9-1 nonleague 1A victory at Klahowya (Silverdale) on Fri., April 17.
The visiting Warriors systematically took control of the event, beginning with a three-run first inning. Klahowya's Eagles soared briefly to put together enough offense to score their only run of the game in the home half of the first.
Seattle Christian earned runners on base in the second inning on the way to another three-spot run production and a 6-1 lead.
As their defense held tough, the Warriors notched two additional runs in the fourth inning plus a lone counter in the sixth inning.
In their nine-hit attack over seven full innings, the powerful Warriors were led by shortstop Kelli Ronish who batted 3-for-3 with double and four runs scored.
First baseman Alyssa Baucom batted 3-for-4 including two RBI and one run scored while Makenzie May batted 1-for-2 as she scored two runs.
Lisa Kumasaka was 0-3, but knocked home two runs and scored twice.
For Klahowya, Amber Bumbalough hit 3-of-3 including a triple, double and one run scored.
