Local entrepreneurs, Nin Truong, Christa Thomas and Stephen Pleadwell held the grand opening of Our/Seattle Vodka, a new micro-distillery in the Ballard (1836 NW Market St.) last Saturday, April 18.

Initiated by Pernod Ricard, and made by local partners around the world, Our/Vodka is the first global vodka with local roots. Our/Seattle is the third distillery to launch following successful introductions in Berlin and Detroit. Our/Vodka’s local partners follow the same global recipe, but each distillery partly distills, blends and bottles using high-quality ingredients. The award-winning bottle design features a crown cap and its meant to be shared amongst friends. Our/Vodka is smooth, fresh, and composed to blend well with any mixer. The Our/Seattle distillery boasts an expansive tasting room geared toward hosting community events.

Designers and entrepreneurs, Truong and Thomas, were delighted to begin creating the Our/Seattle space on Ballard’s lively Market St. “We wanted to preserve the original architecture of the space,” said Thomas. Co-founders of WKND, a Seattle design studio, the partners produce work ranging from interior architecture to product and clothing design, including projects like Maiden Noir and Blk Pine Workshop.

Our/Seattle partner, Stephen Pleadwell, is a writer-producer living in Seattle. He has a documentary television background with credits that include “Alaska State Troopers,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and “Hoarders." Most recently, he has been producing video projects for Microsoft. Thomas and Pleadwell are long-time friends from their time attending the University of Washington. Truong and Thomas tapped Pleadwell to join them in the Our/Seattle partnership for his proven successes as a creative producer.

Rounding out the Our/Seattle Vodka team is sales manager Olivia Lee, and head distiller Allison Law.
