Drew Locke, owner of West Seattle Brewing company on Fauntleroy Way SW has expanded the brewing capacity of the craft brewer, installed garage doors, a new sound system and more and will reopen June 1 offering espresso and food.
Update 5/28/15
Confusion with the Washington State Liquor Control Board and their understanding the status of the re-opening of West Seattle Brewing Company has led to a delay in the opening date. Originally set to open June 1, the new date is June 5. They will still open at 5:30am to introduce the new coffee and breakfast service to West Seattle. Additionally owner Drew Locke, in sympathy for all those who have waited patiently for the business to re-open said, "I understand it's a bit of a disappointment and it is for us too. So to make it better for everyone, on June 5 it will be Happy Hour all day with $1 off all beers and $2 off all wine. Thanks to everyone for their understanding and patience. We can't wait to get going."

Craft breweries are found in a lot of places around the northwest and West Seattle Brewing Company at 4415 Fauntleroy Way SW. fit that profile pretty well when it opened two years ago. They could only make so much beer, and as a startup it meant long hours selling everything they could make.
After a buyout of his original partner, owner Drew Locke saw an opportunity when Diva Espresso across the street closed (now occupied by Rudy's Barbershop). But it meant shutting down long enough to make some serious physical changes in the space. Now working with new associates, Locke added brick to the bar facing, installed a new sound system, flat screens (all the big games will be shown), refinished the floor, installed three large garage doors on the south wall, expanded beer production capacity in a major way but made the most significant change with a small machine.

He bought a top of the line espresso machine and is adding food in an all new menu, opening early on weekdays to get people their caffeine fix in the morning.
They will open at 5:30 am on weekdays (9am on weekends) to catch the early commuters offering the usual lattes, mochas and other coffee drinks but West Seattle Brewing will also offer food. In the morning, some pastries, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, and then later in the day and evening flatbread pizza, soups, salads, sandwiches, a special northwest salmon plate to pair with beer flights, Taco Tuesday will be offered as well.
The grand opening will likely be the weekend following the opening but before that an industry night and friends and family night will be held.
The brewery will be fully functional, moving their capacity from a one and a half barrel system to seven barrels. That means the public can buy their product from more than 30 bars and restaurants in the first six months. In store they will offer 18 beers on tap and a large selection of bottled beers.
Locke said, "We're going to limit our wholesale to five beers including an IPA, a Pllsner, E.S.B. Porter in the winter and a seasonal offering." They will also serve wine and hard cider.
It's been a lot of work to remodel the space but Locke thinks it will be worth it. "I just hope everybody loves it as much as we do."
West Seattle Brewing Company will open from 5:30 am weekdays until 12 midnight and open at 9 on weekends open till 12 or 1am.
