Calderon named Player of the Year

Marco Calderon of Kennedy Catholic was named as the Seamount League baseball Player of the Year after helping the Lancers to a co-championship along with Hazen.
Calderon, a senior, was also honored as the starting shortstop.
Hazen's Mike Brundage was named as the Coach of the Year for the Seamount League and Renton took the Team Sportsmanship award.
Joining Calderon on the first team for the Lancers were sophomore second baseman Nick Blakely, sophomore outfielder Jared Thurber and junior pitcher Andrew Ellingson.
Tyee landed three players on the first team in senior third baseman Isaak Wiebe, sophomore utility player Nick Archambault and junior outfielder Jar Yourglich.
Foster senior Mitchell Forhan earned a first team outfielder position and Highline senior Danny Perkins was named as a first team pitcher.
Honored from the Hazen team were sophomore catcher Logan Ricord, senior first baseman Ryan Gayte and senior designated hitter Eli Azcueta.
Three Highline players made the second team in senior shortstop Danny Perkins, senior designated hitter Victor Brose and junior utility player Matt Horejsi.
Kennedy had senior catcher Jake Thurber on the second team along with junior outfielder Andrew Ellingson, while Tyee had freshman second baseman Spencer Howell on the second team and Foster had junior pitcher Drew Jorgensen on the squad.
Also on the second team were Lindbergh senior first baseman Taylor Scarvie, Hazen sophomore third baseman Alex Combs, Renton senior outfielder Elijah Clayton, Hazen senior outfielder Nolan Hoover and Lindbergh senior pitcher Taylor Scarvie.
Six Tyee players earned honorable mention in junior first baseman Brock O'Brien, sophomore catcher Ethan Park, freshman outfielder Billy Baccus, sophomore outfielder Tosh Elam, sophomore pitcher Nick Archambault and junior pitcher Jar Yourglich.
Five players were honored off the Foster roster in junior first baseman Drew Jorgensen, freshman second baseman Adrian Brown, senior shortstop Tyler Solemsaas, freshman utility player Travis Boyd and sophomore outfielder Tyler Amin.
Sophomore Grayson Oneil was honored at first base from JFK along with teammates sophomore Alex Parker at utility, sophomore Nick Horn at pitcher and senior Joe Wilson at pitcher.
Landing honorable mention from Highline were senior pitcher Victor Brose and sophomore pitcher Jacob Bleitz.
Evergreen's Sione Kamato earned honorable mention at pitcher as a junior.
Other honorable mention choices were Renton sophomore catcher Michael Stuart, Lindbergh senior catcher Anthony Nehren, Renton senior first baseman Rodney Melgrito, Lindbergh junior third baseman Zed Johnson, Lindbergh junior designated hitter Lucian Hernandez, Hazen senior outfielder Mitchell Hard, Hazen senior outfielder DJ Anderson, Hazen junior pitcher Ben Hoeper and Hazen senior pitcher Ryan Gayte.
