On the heels of the Obama administration’s newly announced rule to protect streams and wetlands across the nation, top officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Environment Washington, WashPIRG, and others will gather to celebrate the recently-announced Clean Water Rule and talk about how clean water is crucial to Seattle’s health, economy and civic vitality.

The Region’s top EPA official, Dennis McLerran, will be joined by Sara Nelson of Fremont Brewery and WashPIRG leadership and staff to talk about how the Obama administration’s Clean Water Rule will protect wetlands and the fragile upland sources of Seattle’s rivers and streams.

The toast will happen today Thursday, June 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Fremont Brewing Company, 3409 Woodland Park Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103.
