Jumped on Alki
On June 17 at 2:59 p.m. police received a call concerning a male victim who had been brutally beaten by three men at 60 Ave. S.W. and Alki Ave. S.W. The caller explained to the dispatchers that he was the victim’s best friend and that the three suspects were men he had never seen before.
Responding officers found the victim dazed with injuries to his face, elbow and knees. The victim explained that he had gone to talk to a girl standing near the Alki Bathhouse when three Hispanic males walked up to him. One of the men asked the victim if he had any marijuana on him. As soon as the victim replied “no” all three men began punching him at the same time. The victim’s friend witnessed the assault from the beach and dialed 911 as he rushed to help. The suspects ran away once they saw the friend on the phone.
Neither the victim nor the friend could provide a definitive description of any of the suspects. The victim blacked out as soon as the beating began and realized his wallet had been stolen when he came to. All three suspects remain at large at this time.
Rooftop robber
Police were at a loss to explain how a burglar gained entrance to an apartment located on the 3200 block of S.W. Avalon WY on June 12 in order to steal over $2,500 worth of one man’s belongings. The victim discovered his home had been broken into after he received multiple text messages throughout the day from his bank regarding fraudulent charges to his credit card.
At 8 a.m. the victim left for work and the text messages began rolling in around 4 p.m. When the victim got home at 6 p.m. he found his front door was unlocked and his back porch door was open. What is so perplexing is that the complex that the victim lives in uses security fobs to open the doors. On top of that the victim lives on a level (no floor number was provided) that is just below the roof and is much too high for someone to have climbed to.
The victim explained that he had left his deck door unlocked since he was so high up. It is believed that the suspect somehow got onto the roof and jumped down to the victim’s deck. This theory still leaves out an explanation as to how the suspect got on the roof.
Along with his credit and debit cards the victim also lost numerous pairs of Air Jordan sneakers, a computer, an iPad, two pairs of Rayban sunglasses, and an external hard drive. The sneakers are all sized 11 or 12. The suspect remains at large.
