PacWest wins age 9-10 tournament

It took two championship games to do it, but PacWest prevailed in the District 7 all-star Little League baseball age 9-10 tournament Tuesday.
PacWest had lost to Renton by a 9-5 score in the first final Monday, but the tournament hosts turned the tables the next night with a 15-5 victory.
PacWest wound up posting a 4-1 tournament record and now advances to play in the state tournament starting Saturday, July 18 in Montesano.
The Burien and SeaTac-based team opens against the District 2 team at 12 p.m. in a tournament that was originally planned for Cheney but switched because of the fire hazard in the Spokane area.
PacWest beat South Highline National in the eight-team District 7 tournament before topping Renton to earn its way to the winner's bracket final.
PacWest then defeated Rainier to reach Monday's first final needing to be defeated twice to be unseated.
Luke Hagler manages this year's PacWest team and is assisted by coaches Brian Bernard and Carl Stacy.
Players are Brandon Bernard, Quincey Brown, Jaquori Buchanan, Ian Chilson, Diego Cigarroa, Kaleb Fitzpatrick, Micah Hagler, Zach Hatcher, Preston Hopp, Sam Hostetter, Cameron Keller, Lamont Richardson and Andrej Stacy.
Renton was managed by Jack Swenson along with coaches David Corr and Tim McCarthy.
Players were Chason Beltran, Gavin Clark, Blake Corr, Chase Easter, Liam Flemming, Jaidyn Holmes, Marcus McCarthy, Preson Namba, Will Randolph, Hazen Sagdal, Lane Swenson, Max Ust and Luke Wilson.
