Seattle Police are looking for three male suspects linked to a string of armed robberies in South Seattle and a drive by shooting in Ballard.
The first incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. A man in South Seattle reported three men robbed him of his cell phone at gunpoint.
Later that night three victims reported three suspects brandishing guns approached them and demanded their cell phones. The victims told police a red sedan circled them before the crime was committed.
Then around midnight police were dispatched to Lake Washington Park Drive S. and Lake Washington Boulevard where two suspects robbed a man at gunpoint. They took his cell phone and backpack, and then they sped away in a red Mercedes.
Police later found the man’s belonging in the street a few blocks away. The man’s cell phone was not recovered.
After the third incident police scoured the area for a red Mercedes. Then just before 2:30 a.m. there was a report of a drive by shooting at the 7000 block of 24th Avenue NW.
The victim told police that someone in the backseat of a red Mercedes fired a shot into his home. No one in the house was injured.
Police discovered the car at the 12200 block of Aurora Avenue N. Three male suspects fled from the Mercedes as it stopped, but three other individuals were apprehended. Two females teens and one male teen were taken back to the North Precinct for questioning. They were later released to their parents.
Major Crimes Taskforce detectives are investigating the case. They believe the three male individuals who fled the scene are the perpetrators of the crimes.
SPD could not reveal many details about the incident because it is still under investigation. However, SPD reported that the car was impounded and that the crimes have not been ruled out as being gang related.
