Seattle Fire aboard Boat E, pumped out water from a Boston Whaler which had taken on water following heavy winds which swept through Puget Sound on Saturday Aug. 29.
A 21 foot Boston Whaler, known for their unsinkable nature, took on water off the 5000 block of Beach Drive SW on Saturday and the Seattle Fire Department responded with a fire boat to help the ailing vessel. One of the boat owners said she and her son had gone out to the boat earlier after they realized it had taken on water, and attempted to bail it out. "The port side pump had failed," she said. But that was inadequate.
Seattle Fire used their onboard pump to pump out the water and right the craft. No one was hurt.
