Tue, 10/06/2015
Screening and Discussion for the film, "Yoik Fever" with filmmaker Ellen-Astri Lundby at Nordic Heritage Museum will be held October 15 at 7 p.m.
From the maker of the Norwegian documentary “Suddenly Sami”, “Yoik Fever” features Ylva, a young enthusiastic urban girl, who makes the connection to her Sámi heritage through learning the ancient art of yoik singing. The movie is filmed in an entertaining cabaret-style mash-up of film styles and genres, and the ending might leave you with a serious case of yoik fever! The event is in partnership with The Pacific Sámi Searvi.
A no-host bar will be provided by the Museum. Suggested donation for the event is $5.
