The margin of potential victory for Lisa Herbold has expanded, by 6 more votes than Shannon Braddock for the City Council District 1 position.

Here's the current count:

Lisa Herbold
49.74% - 12402 votes

Shannon Braddock
49.60% - 12367 votes

That's not much and means a recount is likely but the election is still in question.

In the hotly contest Seattle City Council race for District 1, representing West Seattle and South Park Lisa Herbold has now overtaken Shannon Braddock who held the lead up until the most recent count.

The margin today 27 votes.

Here's the current count:

Lisa Herbold
49.73% - 12371 votes

Shannon Braddock
49.62% - 12344 votes

Lisa Herbold said: " My mom always said I picked hard things to do and always did them the hard way. Running & finishing this election is no different!"

Shannon Braddock said, "We always knew this was going to be a close race.
