2015-16 Ballard Boys Basketball
Beaver Basketball enters a new era this year under 1st year head coach Mike Broom, yet the program maintains continuity as Broom and Assistant Coach Jon Adams were the Beavers' top assistants over the past several years. From a first look at a practice, game, weight session, or study hall this season, you'll see a Beaver program from senior to freshman committed to the team's core values including Enthusiasm, Gratitude, Attitude, .
The Varsity team will be lead by Metro League veterans James Overly, Valentin Boyanov, Simon Czyzewski, and Nick Conway. Several talented sophomores including Kole Knutsen and Rashakem “Fresh” Ausar expect to push for minutes on Varsity, while the JV team is looking to be one of the strongest in many seasons, lead by Head Coach and Ballard alum Brad Baker. This year's freshman class is already making an impact on the program under JVC Coach Ron Coacher (that's right, Coach Coacher!), with several young players pushing for time on the JV team.
From summer team camp, to fall league, to 6am conditioning and open gyms, young men at Ballard High have committed to the high standards on the floor and in the classroom of Ballard Basketball this year and the results are sure to show. While the Metro League is likely again to feature the top teams in the state, the Beavers have the talent and attitude to compete every time on the floor.
We invite the Ballard community to join the team for home games, follow the Beavers on the road around the league, and on Twitter @BallardBBall.
