Nichole DeMent has worked in the arts for almost two decades as an artist, educator and cultural producer. In addition to teaching, she empowers contemporary artists with exebition and career opportunities while advancing contemporary art and culture regionally in her role as Executive Director for CoCA (Center on Contemporary Art) in Seattle.
“Whether it’s a flower or a figure you see in my work, my art is a creative inquiry of our human story. From diverse artistic influences including Caravaggio and Louise Bourgeois to conceptual interests from the Oracle of Delphi to quantum physics, I am essentially interested in (re)presenting what is below the surface of things. I prefer to embrace a romantic interpretation of our everyday lives – reality is suspect anyway.”--Nichole
The exhibition will be available for public viewing through 29 February 2016 (Monday – Friday during business hours) in Normandy Park City Hall Council Chambers.
