$5,000 of wire taken from construction site

A construction company is missing $5,000 of electrical wire after a burglary occurred at a construction site on the 1400 block of N.W. 85th Street on April 18. Police were dispatched to the site after they got a call from the construction manager who said he arrived at the site after the weekend and found the wire missing. He said the electricians were the last ones to leave the construction site, but they had locked the doors. The main door was secured with only a lock on the door handle. The deadbolt to the door had not been installed. Police believe the suspect used wire to wriggle the door open. Police were unable to recover any fingerprints. There was no security footage of the incident.

Ballard woman loses bike to burglar

A Ballard woman is missing her Specialized bicycle after a burglary occurred at her apartment located on the 2600 block of N.W. 57th Street on April 17. The complainant told police that she noticed the light was on in her storage room. There was no damage to the door. When she went to shut off the light she noticed her bicycle was gone. The model was a Transition Multi-sport. The bicycle is dark grey in color and has curved front handlebars. She said she purchased the bicycle eight years ago for $1200. Police did not recover any fingerprints from the scene and there was no security footage of the incident.

Church burglarized, suspect leaves cig-butt as evidence

A church located on the 7700 block of 25th Avenue N.W. was ransacked on April 13. Officers were dispatched to the church and discovered that the suspect had climbed onto the balcony of the church and gained access through a window. Once inside the suspect used a screwdriver to take out a window that led to the church office. The suspect rifled through the desks and drawers and took $250 in cash. Police believe the suspect spent a significant amount of time attempting to gain access to the safe in the office. They found a power saw and other tools that the suspect used to get into the safe. It contained church records. Police found a cigarette butt in the office and submitted it for DNA testing, No fingerprints were found at the scene.
