Ever since West Seattle Brewing announced it was taking over the former SLICES location at 2600 Marine Ave SW on Alki Beach there's been a buzz in the community. Will they still serve pizza? Will they have seating inside? and of course, when will they open?
That last and most important question is still up to the Washington State Liquor Control Board but it's looking likely it will happen in early June according to partners Drew Locke and Chris Alatorre.
The beer, not surprisingly will all be made at their existing location at 4415 Fauntleroy Way SW with eight taps to start and more potentially to be added. Wine and cider along with soft drinks will complete the beverage menu.
Personal pizzas with thin crusts from 8 to 14 inch will be back at the location (they still have the pizza ovens), and they plan to bring in a series of rotating food carts in the side yard of the restaurant, primarily through the summer months unless they can work out a deal for a more permanent supplier.
Inside they've remodeled, cleaned up and installed a brand new bar, with metal and wood accents now seen throughout the space. Locke and Alatorre have discussed having a rail style area that would be used for summer months allowing people to stand inside with a view looking out but those plans are still being formulated.
Allatorre said in addition to indoor seating at the bar they plan to have table service out on the deck and of course, just as they do at their present location they will sell and refill growlers for consumption off site.
As soon as an actual opening date is announced this story will be updated.
