JFK's Gallagher, Josie honored

Kennedy Catholic High School took home two top Seamount League girls fastpitch softball awards this spring after winning the regular season championship.
Lancer senior shortstop Maggie Gallagher was named as the league's Athlete of the Year and Dino Josie was honored as the Coach of the Year.
The Team Sportsmanship award went to Renton High School.
Making the first team along with Gallagher were freshman teammate Tatiana Leahy at catcher, junior teammate Samantha Isernio at second base, junior teammate Elise Turpen at utility and sophomore teammate Sophie Wimer in the outfield.
Highline senior Jennifer Hovland made the first team outfield as well, with Lindbergh senior Gabrielle Williams rounding out the trio.
The first team pitcher is Hazen senior Monica Cleary, while other first teamers were Lindbergh junior Taylor Ferneau at first base, Hazen freshman Amira Garza at third base and Lindbergh senior Eirra Suarez at shortstop.
Three Tyee players made the second team along with two each from Evergreen and Highline and one from Kennedy.
Honored from Tyee were sophomore third baseman Suzanna Dukic, junior outfielder Samantha Hilario and sophomore outfielder Kalapu Stowers.
Evergreen's selections were freshman first baseman Kiana James and senior shortstop Crystal Bailey, while the Highline picks were sophomore catcher Susy Oseguera and freshman second baseman Bianca Mercado.
Marianna DeSimone of Kennedy was named as the second team pitcher as a freshman.
Also making the second team were Renton freshman Selena Fanning at catcher, Hazen junior Tessa DeBartelo in the outfield and Hazen junior Kylie Seevers at utility.
Earning honorable mention at pitcher were Foster senior Reyleen Gogo, Renton senior Quionjanae Green, Tyee junior Christine Langu and Highline junior Samantha Sigarroa, while the catchers were Evergreen sophomore Emily Nikula and Hazen junior Alissa Gummere and the first baseman Renton sophomore Tori Allen.
Honored at second base were Evergreen senior Shanni Calamiong and Lindbergh senior Jolene Trong.
Evergreen freshman Carla Sanchez made honorable mention at third base and two shortstops were honored in Highline sophomore Graciana Mecklenberg and Renton senior Timisha (Mia) Hernandez.
Honorable mention outfielders were Kennedy senior Delaney Knox, Renton senior Mariko Yorita, Highline sophomore Britney Kinney and Hazen junior Tonee Greisling and honorable mention utility players were Tyee junior Nafanue Ah Yen, Tyee sophomore Jocelyn Jordan, Evergreen senior Fa'amaina Leota and Lindbergh senior Lenae Mays.
The all-star selections were made by the coaches in the Seamount League, which is now disbanding.
