Evergreen earns boys soccer sportsmanship award

Evergreen earned the Seamount League boys soccer Team Sportsmanship Award this past spring, even though the other top awards went to Lindbergh.
The Eagles won the Seamount League title, had junior forward Alex Kirtsov named as the Athlete of the Year and Ryan Johnson as the Coach of the Year.
Evergreen also had junior midfielder Kyle Bernd named to the first team.
Landing on the first team from Kennedy Catholic were senior defender Griffin Matthews and junior forward Aaron Rosel, while junior defender Arun Karma and junior forward Jose Esquivel were named from Foster.
Junior defender Pedro Castro of Highline and senior midfielder Ever Palma of Tyee also made the first team.
Other choices by the Seamount League boys soccer coaches were senior defender Hector Cervantes of Hazen, senior forward Reyes Garcia of Hazen, junior midfielder Ethan Kem of Hazen, sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Evetts of Lindbergh, senior defender Tim Reitz of Lindbergh, junior midfielder James Farrell of Lindbergh and senior midfielder Zach Hasson of Renton.
Four Evergreen players made the second team in sophomore midfielder Decker Vasquez, sophomore defender Elias Robles, junior midfielder Roosevelt Meza and sophomore forward Delbert Vasquez.
Three were named from Kennedy in junior defender Cole Cardin, sophomore forward Kaiden Braun and junior midfielder Jesus Garcia, while sophomore midfielder Miguel Salcedo and junior forward Vicente Aquino made the second team from Highline.
Senior defender Ulyses Morales was honored from Tyee and senior defender Fatah Matan from Foster.
Other choices for the second team were junior defender Christian Chavez of Hazen, sophomore midfielder Robbie Schroeder of Hazen, junior goalkeeper Luis Rodriguez of Hazen, junior defender Josh Nelson of Lindbergh and senior midfielder Abdul Hussein of Lindbergh.
Six Foster players earned honorable mention in senior goalkeeper Abel Acosta, senior defender Hae Ha, freshman defender Mohamed Naim, senior midfielder Ajay Darjee, senior midfielder Pau Lian and freshman forward Thang Kai.
Four made honorable mention from Evergreen in sophomore goalkeeper Carlos Recinos-Avalos, freshman defender Carlos Machucha-Molina, junior midfielder Lucas Rodriguez and sophomore forward Joaquin Soto.
Two each were honored from Highline, Kennedy and Tyee.
Senior goalkeeper Jonathan Tadeo and junior forward Tommie McNeil were named from Highline, while junior goalkeeper Sam Carballo and sophomore midfielder Julius Nguyen were named from Kennedy and senior defender Biak Ceu and senior midfielder David Xayasen from Tyee.
Other honorable mention selections were senior defender Logan Dickman of Hazen, sophomore forward Drew Wilson of Hazen, senior midfielder Zach Quesnel of Hazen, senior defender DJ Fox of Lindbergh, senior midfielder Taylor Rin of Lindbergh, junior midfielder Heip Nguyen of Lindbergh, junior goalkeeper Rafael Rodriguez of Renton, senior midfielder Oscar Cruz of Renton, sophomore midfielder Mohamed Jama of Renton and senior forward Alexis Salinas of Renton.
