Month-old crime finally reported
Officers investigated a forced entry burglary on the 9200 block of 2nd Avenue S.W. at 11:20 a.m. on Tues., June 28. The victim said that the crime had occurred earlier in the month but she was not sure which day. The suspect had kicked in the front door or pried it open, damaging the entrance.
The suspect stole a small white pull safe, boxes, and a white Dell printer. Since the crime happened so long ago, officers were not able to record any evidence.

Officers responded to a call at 11:43 a.m. on Sun., June 26, reporting a break-in on the 4100 block of California Avenue S.W. The caller was on the scene when police arrived, but the owner of the business was out of town and therefore unable to provide a detailed statement about missing items until she returns.
The suspect had opened a small window just above the main door of the business and climbed inside, stealing all the cash in the register, jewelry and clothing. The suspect then unlocked the front door and walked out.
Officers were able to locate fingerprints in the store.
Thieves hit jobsite
Around 7 a.m. on Sun., June 26, officers responded to a burglary report on the 4000 block of 37th Avenue S.W. The victim was in the process of a major home remodel and had already completed the garage, which was being used as an office and for tool storage.
The homeowner had last been on the property around 5:30 p.m. on Sat., June 25, and locked the place up. When he returned early the next morning, the hasp had been cut and the padlock was on the ground. A number of items were stolen, including a planer, saw, multiple power tools and a jackhammer. The officers were not able to collect any evidence, but did hear from a neighbor that a 40- to 50-year-old white man with a beard had been seen walking around the jobsite and was possibly scoping it out.

When the officers arrived, they found that the victim had left and was walking down the street, while the suspect was still inside the house. The two women got into a verbal argument, and one punched the other in the face with a closed fist. The altercation quickly turned physical.
Officers located the victim walking down the street and treated her for her injuries. A couple of officers stayed behind and tried to speak to the suspect, who was supposedly still locked in her room. When officers searched the area for her, however, they could not find anyone matching that description.
