Greg Southern is the co-owner along with Seahawk Richard Sherman of WingStop a chicken wing restaurant now open in Westwood Village.
West Seattle's newest restaurant is WingStop located at 2600 SW Barton in the former location of Eats Cafe.
It's co-owned by Greg Southern and the Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman who will be on hand for the Grand opening the weekend of Aug. 27-28. Seahawks players in addition to Sherman will be on hand along with Blitz the mascot and some of the SeaGals.
The restaurant as you might guess specializes in classic and boneless chicken wings in array of flavors and dips to go with them.

- Garlic Parmesan

Prices range from $8.49 for 10 wings and 2 flavors and go up to include a 30 pack with three flavors and three dips for $30.49 way up to a party pack of 100 with six flavors and 8 dips for $90.99.
Chicken tenders start at $6.49 for four with one dip with a party pack of 24 with four dips, fries, a side dish and six rolls for $40.29
Sides include veggie sticks, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and baked rolls. Soft drinks and tea are available too.
Southern has been in the business "since I was a child" he said, "My family were some of the first to bring it to the west coast in 2001." He is the owner or co-owner of seven other locations in the greater Puget Sound area starting with Bellevue in 2012. They are in Bellevue,Renton Landing, SouthCenter, Kent Station, Tacoma near the mall, Puyallup on Meridian and Lakewood Town Center. He encountered former Seahawk Sidney Rice with whom he now shares ownership in several WingStop locations. Once the Seahawks discovered WingStop they came in regularly resulting in him meeting Sherman. "He said he wanted to join the team" Southern explained.
They have plans to open more together in the future.
"It's really about the sauce, but one of our most popular flavors is the Louisiana Dry Rub which is garlic butter based with cajun seasoning going through it. Another popular one is Garlic Pepper."
If he had to choose a favorite he said, 'I love the Garlic Parmesan."
The restaurant seats 24 people and has 10 employees. They are open 10:30am to 11pm Sunday through Thursday and 10:30am to Midnight Friday and Saturday.
