Update 5:21
The power has been restored for all but a few in the West Seattle/White Center/Highland Park area but power outages still persist for 104 in one area near 116th SW and Seola Beach Drive SW and other isolated outages. Power remained a problem for other areas south down to Burien too.

Update 4:20pm
The power outage that affected thousands in West Seattle and beyond was largely fixed around mid-day, though a tree branch caused nearly 800 near Highland Park and South Park to stay in the dark. with an estimated restoration around 5:18 pm. Traffic was easing on some of the main routes through West Seattle were clear enough for traffic but the snow that arrived overnight was continuing. The National Weather Service said an addition 1 to 3 inches of snow is likely to fall through the afternoon. The temperatures were expected to drop below freezing overnight which means the commute early Tuesday will be a problem for many.

The snow storm that came to the Puget Sound region hit West Seattle pretty hard as multiple power outages in the area put people in the dark and cold early on Monday Feb. 6.

Approximately four to five inches of snow that began falling in earnest after midnight kept both SDOT and City Light crews extremely busy trying to deal with the mess.

The power outages, one affecting 4221 and the other 976 customers were concentrated between 35th SW and over east to 4th Ave. SW and from SW Henderson Street in the south to just shy of SW Brandon Street. It appeared from the City Light System Status Map that Louisa Boren School was without power. Not that it mattered too much (aside from items requiring refrigeration) Seattle Public Schools (and Highline Public Schools were closed for the day.

City Light estimated a restoration time of around 11 am.

King County Metro, specifically the C Line was struggling to get people downtown, but had to drop many off on Avalon Way to wait for a shuttle since the buses were operating at capacity.
