WSDOT holding an 'Online Open House' on Alaskan Way Viaduct demolition
In-person Open House will be held Aug. 10 too

Now that the SR 99 Tunnel is complete, the plans to demolish the Alaskan Way Viaduct are underway. The Washington State Dept. of Transportation is holding both an online and in person Open House to answer questions and illustrate the process and timing of the work. The online version will run from Aug. 3 - 14 with the in person version taking place Aug. 10.

The Alaskan Way Viaduct will be demolished after the new SR 99 tunnel opens to traffic, currently scheduled for early 2019. This online open house will have information about demolition and how WSDOT and its partner agencies are coordinating projects along the waterfront. You will also be able to share feedback and questions about demolition.

In-person open house August 10

WSDOT will also be holding an in-person open house on August 10. This open house will present the same information as the online open house, and there will be staff on hand to answer questions.
