Kennedy Catholic and Foster both started their football seasons off on the right foot this weekend.
JFK's Lancers met Seattle Prep at Husky Stadium on Saturday afternoon and dealt the Panthers a 30-20 defeat.
Kennedy is a member of the Class 4A North Puget Sound League and Seattle Prep is a team from the 3A Metro League.
Foster of the 2A South Puget Sound League rose up to outgun Ingraham of the 3A Metro League in a home game Friday by a 45-39 score.
It was also the season opener for the Bulldogs of Tukwila.
Highline and Mount Rainier, meanwhile, both started their seasons off by taking non-league losses.
The Pirates of the 2A SPSL were sunk by Nathan Hale of the 3A Metro League in a road game Friday, 35-20.
Mount Rainier met Decatur -- a member of the opposing division of the 4A North Puget Sound League -- and took a 28-21 non-league loss to the Gators at Federal Way Memorial on Thursday.
Decatur will also provide the opposition for Chief Sealth in a 7 p.m. game at the Southwest Athletic Complex this Friday.
Highline Memorial hosts a double-header that night, with Highline entertaining Eatonville for its SPSL opener at 5 p.m. ahead of an 8 p.m. non-league game for Mount Rainier against Todd Beamer.
Kennedy goes on the road to Juanita for a 7 p.m. non-league contest Thursday and West Seattle visits Ingraham at the same time Friday at the Northeast Athletic Complex in Seattle.
