It's no surprise that the greater Seattle area has an abundance of fur creatures. We actually have more pets then people! Thank goodness for people like Brittany Shelton, owner and operator of Sit 'N Stay Pet Sitting, LLC. She is the sole owner/operator of her business that is licensed, bonded, and insured and has been around for 10 years.
Brittany told me, "My clients appreciate that they can always be certain their pet is being cared for by me, personally. This allows me to build a relationship with my clients and their pets and also provides the fur-kids with the consistency they need from a surrogate pet parent."
I personally do not have a pet of my own, but grew up with dogs and cats and know how special they are to a person or family. I asked Brittany if she is offering anything new and exciting and she said, "Yes! I now offer Event Concierge services!
This service includes any special event (usually weddings and parties) where the parents wish to have their fur-kid in attendance. I provide transportation to/from the groomer to the event, custom made accessories made by SugarHats specializing in accessories for children, adults and pets (https://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarHats ). Additionally, entertainment/potty breaks and walks during the event, walking the pet down the aisle, transportation to picture locale and transportation back home are also included. Other packages include aftercare and GoPro footage of your event from your pet’s point of view! All packages can be modified and requests are always welcome!"
One thing that speaks volumes about her business is that she currently has a waiting list for regular, and daily dog walking. She did say she is still taking new pet sitting clients. I was able to talk with Brittany further about why people should come to see her versus other pet sitting/care businesses, and she said, "People should come see me who want peace of mind their best friend/furkid will get uncompromising care while they travel for business or pleasure. I offer many flexible options from which to choose, so you can be assured the mental and physical needs of your pet are best served.
Special needs and medical considerations are no problem. I have many clients whose pets I see on a routine basis for a variety of conditions from cats that need SubQ fluids to support kidney function to dogs that need injections for mobility to administration of allergy shots. I'm a pro at giving pills! Differently-abled pets and pets with special conditions will not have to experience disruption or upset to their normal routine.
Together, there's no situation we can't figure out. I don't breed discriminate and I possess a host of extensive skills derived from a lifetime of experience whether from living on a farm to being a veterinary technician and having of my own animals, including four dogs at present.
I recognize all my extended fur-kid family on their birthday with a special gift and all visits are followed up with a report card and photo or video.
Most parents follow me on Instagram and Facebook @Sitnstaypets so they can see their furkids in action! I also offer field trips! Dogs are specially vetted for field trips based on personality, behavior and ease of outing.
We go on hikes, walks and jogs on various trails and parks. These field trips are meant to be mentally and physically stimulating and break up the monotony of neighborhood walking.
I take no more than four vetted dogs from different families on the group field trips and parents also have the option of "keeping it in the family" where only members of the same pack go on the outing."
