Madison makes Pac-12 first team
Kennedy Catholic High School graduate and Burien resident Cole Madison has been named to the Pac-12 football first team as an offensive lineman.
Madison is a senior for the Washington State University Cougars team that is set to play Michigan State in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28.
Kelemete, Saints stand at 10-4
Evergreen High School and University of Washington graduate Senio Kelemete is backing up at all offensive line positions for a New Orleans Saints team that boasts a 10-4 record in the National Football League, tying it for first place in the National Football Conference’s South Division.
Jordan McPhee coming off big game
Jordan McPhee had a big day for the Seattle Pacific University women’s basketball team Monday, although the Falcons fell short against Oklahoma Christian, 75-70, on the scoreboard.
McPhee poured in 19 points and hauled down 10 rebounds and also had four assists, four blocks and five steals.
McPhee is in her senior season at SPU and came to the Falcons from Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines.
Brittany has played in only two games
Brittany McPhee has been sidelined for the Stanford Cardinal women’s basketball team since a Nov. 12 loss to Connecticut in which she finished with nine points before being injured.
McPhee has an average of 16.5 points and five rebounds over the two games the Mount Rainier graduate and senior twin sister of Jordan has played.
Giomi averaging 1.9 points for Ducks
West Seattle graduate Lydia Giomi has seen limited action over eight games for the University of Oregon women’s basketball team as a redshirt freshman.
The 6-foot, 6-inch Giomi has averaged 1.9 points to go with 2.4 rebounds. She has a total of four blocks.
McPherson’s season ends with loss
A successful season for Kennedy Catholic graduate Shayne McPherson and the University of Washington women’s volleyball team ended with a 3-2 NCAA tournament loss to Illinois on Saturday, Dec. 2.
McPherson finished her true sophomore season with 305 digs, 40 assists and 19 service aces.
She is now awaiting the Huskies’ beach volleyball season coming up next spring.
