Boys basketball
Kennedy Catholic High School is hosting tournament action this week with three area teams involved.
Seattle Christian plays Woodinville at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and West Seattle battles Lindbergh at 4 p.m.
Host Kennedy is set to open against Cascade Christian at 7 p.m.
The tournament runs through Thursday.
Ballard journeys to a tournament in Mountlake Terrace on Thursday and Friday. The Beavers play Ferndale at 6 p.m. Thursday and Auburn Mountainview at 6 p.m. Friday.
Chief Sealth is playing in a tournament at Bellevue College the same days, meeting Inglemoor at 6 p.m. Thursday and Kings at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Mount Rainier entertains Lynnwood at 5:40 p.m. Thursday and Foster hosts Thomas Jefferson at 7 p.m. Friday.
Girls basketball
Kennedy Catholic is also putting on a girls tournament Wednesday and Thursday. The Lancers start with a 12:30 p.m. game against Holy Names Academy on Wednesday.
Mount Rainier travels to Decatur for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday action before hosting Lynnwood at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
Ballard is playing at a tournament at Olympia High School Thursday and Friday, with the Beavers’ first game at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Seattle Lutheran of West Seattle visits Cedar Park Christian for a 5:30 p.m. game Friday and hosts Neah Bay at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Seahawks
Seattle wraps up its regular National Football League season Sunday, hosting the Arizona Cardinals for a 1:25 p.m. game at CenturyLink Field.
The clash can be seen on Channel 13 television.
The Seahawks need a win and an Atlanta loss to reach the NFC playoffs.
Thunderbirds
Seattle returns to action Wednesday, visiting the Spokane Chiefs at 7:05 p.m.
The Thunderbirds turn around to host the Chiefs for a 7:35 p.m. Western Hockey League match at the Showare Center in Kent on Friday and get a visit from Portland at 6:05 p.m. Saturday. They go to Portland at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Tacoma’s professional indoor men’s soccer team is off until Friday, Jan. 5 when it hosts the Ontario Fury at 7:35 p.m. in the Showare Center in Kent.
Colleges
Husky football
The University of Washington plays in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. at 1 p.m. this Saturday against Penn State with ESPN showing the action live.
Cougar football
Washington State University is in San Diego on Thursday for the Holiday Bowl.
The Cougars meet Michigan State for a 6 p.m. game that can be seen on FS1.
Husky men’s basketball
Washington visits USC for a 7:30 p.m. game Friday and UCLA at 5 p.m. next Sunday with the Pac-12 network showing both games live.
Husky women’s basketball
The Huskies are at Oregon State for a 2 p.m. game Friday and at Oregon State at 1 p.m. next Sunday.
Sunday’s game will be carried on the Pac-12 network.
Cougar men’s basketball
Washington State goes to UCLA for an 8 p.m. Friday game and to USC for 6 p.m. Sunday action.
Both games can be seen on ESPN2.
Cougar women’s basketball
The Cougars go to Oregon for a 3 p.m. game Friday and to Oregon State for 11 a.m. action Sunday.
Sunday’s contest will be aired on the Pac-12 network.
Redhawk men’s basketball
Seattle University hosts Grambling State at 7 p.m. Thursday and UC Riverside at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Redhawk women’s basketball
Seattle visits Cal State Northridge for a 4 p.m. Saturday game.
Falcon men’s basketball
Seattle Pacific University hosts Western Washington for a 7:30 p.m. game Thursday and Simon Fraser at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Falcon women’s basketball
Seattle Pacific entertains Montana State Billings for a 5:15 p.m. game Thursday.
Bulldog men’s basketball
Gonzaga University plays a 6 p.m. home game against Pacific in Spokane this Thursday before entertaining Santa Clara at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Thursday’s action can be seen on ESPN and Saturday’s on the ROOT Sports network.
Bulldog women’s basketball
The Lady Bulldogs visit Pacific at 7 p.m. Thursday and Santa Clara at 2 p.m. Saturday.
