Families are invited to preview a free performance that the award-winning Ballard High School Wind Ensemble will showcase at the WMEA conference on February 6, 7:30 p.m.
The Ballard High School Wind Ensemble was one of two school bands selected to perform at the Washington Music Educators Association State Conference in February. This is the first time that a Seattle Public School Wind Ensemble or Concert Band has been invited to perform at this highly competitive event, which draws applications from schools throughout the state, and BHS was selected for the most prestigious performance opportunity.
The February 6 concert will include three contemporary works: “Aurora Awakes” by John Mackey, “A Solemn Place” by Wayne Oquin, and “Apollo Unleashed” from Symphony No. 2 by Frank Ticheli.
