UPDATE: 7:30am
Aside from a few pockets of outages involving a handful of homes most power was restored overnight
Original Post
A tree broke off in high winds Sunday around 2:43pm on the hillside between 44th and 45th SW along Kenyon Street SW. The wooded area is full of dry brush and dead trees and the tree hit a power line sparking a brush fire.
Seattle Firefighters first tried water from a pump truck above the fire but quickly had to put out a call for more engines and hooked up to a hydrant as winds whipped the flames through the brush. Another truck came in on 45th where power was knocked out for 147 homes.
City Light estimates a 9pm restoration time but they will need to get in and cut the tree apart before power can be restored.
An additional 230 homes just west of the north end of Lincoln Park were also without power. It was unclear as to whether or not it was the same power line break in both incidents. You can follow the system status here

This wasn't the only tree to fall in the area as 226 customers on Three Tree Point and along Maplewild Drive near Burien were without power as well. City Light estimates and 8pm restoration time for that outage. Yet another outage that started around 1pm affected 73 customers along the end of Ambaum Blvd. between 4th SW and 8th SW and 155th SW and 158th SW.
