EMPOWERING WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP conference set for March 30

Cross generational leadership conference laser focusing in on women in the workplace K D Hall Foundation, Seattle Southside Chamber and University of Phoenix is celebrating women’s history month with a close out ceremony not to be missed
“We will be inspiring and empowering women from the classroom to the boardroom,” Get ready to be inspired, educated and motivated on March 30th from 10am -2pm. The event consists of keynote speaker Synthia Melton, Millennial Lawyer and partner of the first all-woman female owned law firm in Tukwila, WA. We will have a dynamic panel of leaders throughout Seattle from tech, healthcare, education and leadership speaking about women in leadership, how to advance in your career and re-careering. Bank of America and University of Phoenix are hosting workshops on Social media, financial management and interviewing skills. Panel, breakout sessions and networking opportunities with powerhouse women leading their communities will all be inclusive in this 4-hour conference. This event will be held at University of Phoenix, 7100 fort Dent Way, Tukwila WA, 98188.
Panelist include Diane Penoyer, Director of HR-Mattress Firm Inc. Kathrina Westby, Director of Operations – Overlake Hospital. Christina Sciabarra -Women’s Initiative Director- Bellevue College. Andrea H. Reay- President/CEO -Seattle Southside Chamber. Satwinder Kaur – Kent City Council, Godwin Gabriel-CEO/Mastermind -Moovn (Seattle’s 3rd Rideshare option)
Workshops include: Esther Richmond, VP of Finance Bank of America, she will be leading a workshop on women in their finances, Kim Vu, Senior VP of Marketing of Bank of America and President Bruce Williams of University of Phoenix will lead a workshop on Social Media. Zenovia Harris, Manager, University of Phoenix will host a workshop on Interview Tips and Resume review by University of Phoenix faculty.
According to K D Hall Foundation CEO Kela Hall, “We will be creating space for conversations about women sponsoring women, women investing in each other and women celebrating each other.”
Tukwila Mayor Allan Ekberg and City of Tukwila are great supporters of the conference and its aims, and have released a proclamation encouraging employers and educators of their city to take the day to attend the conference for career and personal development.
Seattle Southside Chamber and KD Hall Foundation in partnership with University of Phoenix is offering this conference free to the community.
Moderated by KD Hall CEO and Founder, Kela Hall, this multigenerational and multicultural conference will bring together women, men, and young adults who believe in the empowerment of women and their leadership. Topics are varied, and begins with Women advancing in their careers. Other topics include: Community Leaders, Mother’s in the Workplace special topics for Men as allies.
In addition to panels and workshops, the afternoon will include “Vendor Nation”: an inclusive networking opportunity for attendees to connect and invest in local women owned businesses.
