An appeal is underway regarding the construction of a 66 unit apartment building at 2222 SW Barton with no parking. A conditional go ahead was granted in February.
The appeal was filed by Don and Patty Doty (see the full appeal statement here). The Doty's say in their appeal "We are Don and Patty Doty home owners for 26 years at 9224 23rd Ave SW 1 block away from the proposed development. Since the SRC 85 multi small unit complex at approx 9049 20th Ave SW the neighborhood has been adversely affected with increased crime car and home break ins Traffic litter and vagrant activity. The City's permitting of Urban Village Units in our R1 zoning is creating Safety and Harrassment problems in our homes. 7 out of the 20 homes on our street have been broken into and theft has occurred from some of the residents of the 85 unit building. Trash has increased. Multiple sketchy characters have been prowling around every day. We are being harassed and feel unsafe."
