South Seattle College’s Northwest Wine Academy (NWWA) will hold their 14th Annual Spring Release from 1 to 7 p.m. on May 18 and 19, with tastings of seven new student-produced wines.
In collaboration with the South Seattle College Art Gallery, this year’s celebration will include a display of student-created, wine-inspired artwork in the tasting room. Select student artwork will be also be unveiled on a specially-designed label for the NWWA’s Convocation White.
For those participating in the wine tasting, there will be food pairings created by students enrolled in South’s Culinary Arts program. There is a $5 fee to participate in the wine tasting for those 21 and over. Children are welcome when supervised by an adult.
Student-produced wines include:
- 2017 Duet, Okanagon
- 2017 Riesling, Columbia Valley
- 2017 Rosé of Syrah, Yakima Valley
- 2017 Rosé of Blaufränkisch, Yakima Valley
- 2016 Blaufränkisch, Yakima Valley
- Convocation Red, Washington State
- Convocation White, Washington State

Tasting Fee and Wine Purchases: There is a $5 per-person fee for anyone participating in the wine tasting, and you must be 21 and over. This year’s release is available for purchase by the case or individual bottle, with discounts available when you purchase by the case.
