West Seattle settled for a fourth-place finish in the Metro League girls fastpitch softball tournament after falling in its final two games.
The Wildcats took an 11-2 loss to Bainbridge in a Thursday semifinal before dropping Friday's third-place game to Garfield by a 12-5 score.
West Seattle still advances to next week's Sea-King District tournament to take place at the Southwest Athletic Complex and Southeast Athletic Complex.
Both Thursday and Friday's losses took place at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
Boys soccer
Mount Rainier saw its boys soccer season end with a narrow 2-1 loss to South Kitsap in a West Central District playoff match played at Curtis High School on Thursday.
