Kites of all shapes and sizes will share the sky (and sometimes the ground) during the Seattle Chinese Garden Kite Festival July 21. Many unusual kites are flown during the event making it as much fun to watch as it is to fly them. If you don't have one, you can buy one very reasonably at the event.
On Saturday July 21 gather family and friends and have fun flying kites in the afternoon breezes in the Seattle Chinese Garden’s big field. Bring your own kite or buy one at the event.
The festival features displays, kite coloring/decorating for children (with prizes), and entertainment. All kite flying skill levels are welcome, from first time to long-time fliers. Every year beautiful Chinese kites and many other designs soar in the Garden sky. “Most unusual” last year was a giant octopus.
