Boys basketball
Kennedy Catholic is hosting its annual Sterling Christmas Shootout tournament Thursday and Friday with Cascade Christian, Thomas Jefferson, Fife, North Kitsap, Shorecrest, Squalicum and Tahoma being the other participants.
Mount Rainier hosts Auburn for a 7 p.m. game next Wednesday.
Chief Sealth visits Newport for a 6 p.m. Thursday game against Inglemoor and plays Interlake there at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Renton there at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Ballard is playing in a tournament at Mountlake Terrace this Friday and Saturday.
Tyee hosts Summit Olympus at 3 p.m. Friday.
Girls basketball
Seattle Christian, Fife and Enumclaw are visiting Kennedy Catholic for the girls version of the Sterling Christmas Shootout tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Mount Rainier, meanwhile, is at home against Sumner at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
Chief Sealth goes to Ferris High School in Spokane for 5:30 p.m. Friday action and Evergreen is playing in a tournament at Fort Vancouver this Friday and Saturday.
Foster is in a tournament at Auburn-Riverside this Thursday and Friday and Tyee visits Clover Park at 3 p.m. Friday.

Seattle wraps up its regular season with a 1:25 p.m. Sunday home game against the Arizona Cardinals at CenturyLink Field.
Channel 13 will televise the action live.
Thunderbirds
Seattle hosts Prince George for 7:35 p.m. Western Hockey League action at the Showare Center in Kent on Friday and Portland comes to town for a 6:05 p.m. match Saturday.
The Thunderbirds turn around to visit Portland at 7 p.m. Monday.

Tacoma’s indoor soccer team is off until Friday, Jan. 4 when it visits El Paso for 6:15 p.m. action.

Washington battles Ohio State in the Rose Bowl at 2 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN.

Washington State University is in San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl starting at 6 p.m. Friday against Iowa State.

Washington is off until Saturday, Jan. 5 when it hosts Washington State University at 7:30 p.m.

Washington entertains Washington State for a 2 p.m. Sunday game on the Pac-12 cable network.

Washington State University is at home in Pullman playing Santa Clara at 11 a.m. Saturday on the Pac-12 network.
Cougar women
The Cougars visit Washington at 2 p.m. Sunday on the Pac-12 network.
Redhawk men
Seattle University visits California for a 5 p.m. Saturday game that will also be shown on the Pac-12 network.
