A King County Deputy was injured by suspects attempting to flee after being told to stop at the Safeway store on Roxbury Street SW near White Center Monday evening around 4:30pm.
According to eye witnesses on the scene a woman in her 20's in an older black sedan was told to stop after exiting the store. The deputy who stood near the front of the vehicle held up his hand but his command was ignored. Instead the suspects witnesses said, swerved to hit the deputy, and "sent him flying" some five feet or more. This was in the middle of the Safeway lot. A young woman who was apparently with the suspect did not make it back to the vehicle and was arrested at the scene. She was heard making a loud phone call to persons unknown following the incident.
The suspects took off and officers converged on the scene with two helicopters overhead assisting in the search.
The deputy suffered undisclosed injuries but they were serious enough to send him to the hospital.
