According to the King County Sheriff three adult males (and possibly more) were involved in a shooting in the middle of White Center on Sunday morning. Public Information Officer for the Sheriff Ryan Abbott said that a single 911 call came in around 5:30 am describing an altercation involving shots fired near the O'Reilly Auto Parts store at 17th SW and SW Roxbury. Then at 6:13am three adult males arrived at Harborview, having transported themselves there. One was shot in the leg and later released. The other two suffered life threatening injuries and were declared to be in critical condition.
The incident, according to pollice, appeared to begin at an after hours club whose entrance is on the alley between 16th and 17th SW. That location is below the Smoke Shop in White Center with an entrance on the alley. It's known as a "hookah lounge".
It's not known at this time what led to the shootings but at least 40 shots were fired, though 60 evidence markers were on the ground extending from the alley, down 98th and across the street into a parking lot. Multiple cars and buildings were hit with gunfire in what Abbott acknowledged appeared to be "a running gun battle" near the intersection.
The 98th SW and 17th SW were both closed to traffic as detectives ran scans on the scene and recovered evidence. People were held in the lounge until a search warrant was attained. Abbott said a press release would be forthcoming as soon as more was known about the incident.

The King County Sheriff's office reported that three people were shot in the 9800 block of 17th SW in White Center on Sunday morning. The shooting occurred in the alley between 16th Ave SW and 17th Ave SW. No further details on the circumstances around the shooting were provided.
On Saturday a tow truck was seen at 9811 17th attempting to remove a trailer that had been parked there. The trailer had come apart during the towing attempt. It's unknown if that incident was related to the shooting.
More details will be provided by the Sheriff's office when they are available.
