The streets all over Seattle and the nation were closed for a few hours Aug. 6 so people could gather for National Night Out.

National Night Out, a national event intended to bring neighbors together to combat crime and promote better local communication did just that on Aug. 6 with parties that took place on streets all over Seattle (and the nation).
Part of the needs served were to help people learn to talk to their neighbors, and be able to come to their assistance in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
Most parties used make shift tables and barbeques, with potluck food from everyone attending. Some had live bands and the Seattle Fire Department managed to get out and visit a few lucky parties too.
