Westside Seattle news partner Q13 Fox News reports that a man was driving on Highway 509 in South Seattle Sunday night and was shot in the face by an unknown assailant. He is in critical condition at Harborview Hospital.
The Washington State Patrol said the shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. when someone in one vehicle shot at another, hitting the driver and causing him to swerve and crash into the Jersey barrier. The passenger of the vehicle was not injured.
That suspect vehicle drove away.
Southbound lanes of SR 509 at Cloverdale Street were closed for about seven hours during the shooting investigation.
WSP has not released any information about a suspect or a vehicle description.
There is no apparent connection between this shooting and the 11 shootings that took place on HWY 509 last year according to the WSP.
