information from the National Nordic Museum
The National Nordic Museum CEO and Executive Director Eric Nelson announced today that the third annual Nordic Innovation Summit, which was expected to draw 350 attendees for an all-day conference May 14, will be transformed into a free half-day virtual Summit. The free online event is open to anyone anywhere in the world interested in the latest thinking about sustainable economic growth, environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility.
“The Museum has always played a vital role as a convener in our community, bringing together people from different backgrounds and viewpoints for open dialogue,” said Eric Nelson, CEO and executive director of the National Nordic Museum. “Even though the Museum is temporarily closed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we think it’s more important than ever for the Museum to play that convener role, helping people imagine and build a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future. We’re excited by this opportunity to reach a global audience with such an inspiring and forward-looking program during this challenging time.”
After the Museum closed to the public on March 13, staff and Nordic Innovation Summit organizers continued to work from home around the world to create a new, virtual event.
“This virus may keep us from traveling or meeting face-to-face for a while, but it will not stop us from sharing our ideas and forging new partnerships for a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable world,” said Birger Steen, Principal, Summa Equity, and chair of the Nordic Innovation Summit 2020. “In the true spirit of sustainable innovation, we are going to create a fast-paced, interactive, virtual Summit. In doing so, we hope we may reach an even greater audience with our ideas.”
The reimagined VIRTUAL Nordic Innovation Summit 2020 presented by Ericsson will take place online from 8:30 am until 11:30 am Pacific Time, Thursday, May 14. Anyone interested can sign up to attend at www.nordicmuseum.org/innovation.
